Health Ed's definition for a sexually healthy young adult:

A person who understands that sexual intimacy represents various outcomes ranging from pleasure to conception to transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and who engages in active learning, decision-making, communication and behaviors that eliminate or reduce risk for unplanned pregnancy and/or STI transmission.

This definition is driven by the statement of values developed by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS), which is listed in the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education Fact Sheet.
