RELAX YOUR MIND & BODY – Stress Management Workshop Series

Our world is filled with stress.  Relaxation is a key part of maintaining physical, mental and emotional wellness.   Relaxation and healthy stress management quiets your mind, calms your body and allows you to perform at your personal best.  Our weekly workshops explore techniques and resources available to manage stress and enhance personal wellness.

 

Workshop Topics and Dates

Workshops begin at 4pm and last 60 minutes. These workshops will take place in the conference room in the Health Education Center (G-319 – Student Center South building):

 

April 15th                        What is Stress?

April 22nd                       The Relaxation Response

April 29th                        Mythbusters and Stressbusters

May 6th                           Rethinking Your Thinking

May 13th                         Attitude is Everything

 

Attendance is limited to the first 15 people – Please arrive early and plan to stay the entire time.

What does it cost to attend the workshops?

All workshops are FREE and open to the UCI community.

 

What is the format of the workshops?

The workshops are designed to be active in nature with time for personal reflection.  At each workshop, information about offices and resources that assist with healthy stress management will be presented.

 

When are the workshops?

Workshops are held every Tuesday starting Week 3 (April 15th) at 4pm in the Newport Beach C Room of the Student Center (4th floor).

 

I’m not available on Tuesdays – are the workshops being offered at other times?

This workshop series is also presented at the following locations:

How long does the workshop last?

Each session lasts 60 minutes.  The workshops will be presented Weeks 3 – 8 (April 15th – May 13th).

 

What should I bring to the workshop?

There’s nothing to bring.   Dress comfortably and bring a pen – in case you want to take notes.

 

Is there any special attire?

Basic stretching may be involved – so please wear comfortable clothes.

 

Do I need to attend all five workshops?

No, you do not need to attend all five workshops.  The material for each workshop is specific to that session.  Feel free to attend the topics that interest you most.  Remember, space is limited to the first 15 participants.
